Richard Kooris, director/cameraman, and Willie Nelson on the set of the award-winning (Best Country Video American Music Awards 1983) and one of the first country music videos, “Pancho and Lefty” with Merle Haggard. Willie paid for the video because Columbia Records declined to do so. It was released in theaters nationwide as part of the album release campaign on the Fourth of July.
