A 1976 shot of the east side of the 501 building, now the entrance to Brushy Street Commons.  When the building was purchased in 1976 by the current owners, it was painted a vile institutional green with orange painted sliding metal doors. Originally, the 501 building was the home of the Texas Warehouse Company, operated by a man named Dudley Prade, and was primarily used to store Maryland Club Coffee and various household goods belonging to the families of airmen who were based at Bergstrom Air Force base and serving an assignment overseas in Germany.
